Bio

Kjel Sidloski is a composer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Saskatchewan, currently based in Montréal. After moving to Vancouver to study at the University of British Columbia, he spent the summer of 2014 compiling and recording what would become his debut album, Ad viger, a nocturnal suite for piano, guitar, flute, organ, voice, and electronics. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in 2016 with a major in composition and a minor in applied music technology. In 2017, he released his second album, enjoy ur Sunl3ss Endeavours, a project which attempts to embody a feeling of warmth, in contrast to the title, which refers to the value of moments which are cast in shadow.

As an artist, he adores to create and inhabit emotional soundscapes, ranging from from micro to macroscopic structures; intimately close to distant rumblings; quietude to the profoundly sonorous. He is fascinated by the fragility of the transmission and reception of information, and by the interplay between synthetic and organic soundscapes. In 2025, he completed a master’s degree in composition at the University of Montreal, where he explored the pipe organ from a contemporary perspective, developing an augmented interface for the pipe organ at l'église Saint-Édouard, where he has served as organist since July 2022.
